Yes! You can move to Pro whenever you like from the Subtotal Dashboard.
Every plan has a base platform fee that includes a set amount of usage. Usage beyond that is billed incrementally at your plan's per-unit rates. Usage is measured by active connections and actions. Purchases, MCP requests and API requests are unlimited on Starter and Pro.
Billing starts when you sign up. Your monthly platform fee includes your plan's usage, and anything beyond that is billed at your plan's per-unit rates on your next invoice.
When you start your subscription through the Subtotal Dashboard. Starter and Pro both use the same simple checkout. Enterprise plans receive a custom invoice.
Your usage against each plan limit is shown in real time on the usage page in your dashboard, so you can see where you stand before any additional usage is billed.

A connection is a retail account that one of your shoppers has linked to you through Subtotal, such as their Walmart or Amazon account. It counts as an active connection if it's active at any point during your usage period, whether it was linked that period or carried over from a prior one. Each connection is counted once per period.
An action is something Subtotal does on your behalf when a purchase comes in, such as sending a webhook, delivering a partner integration message, or writing a record to a data export. A single purchase can trigger more than one action if you've enabled multiple webhooks or integrations.
A purchase is an in-store or online transaction shared by one of your customers that includes at least one product from a brand you subscribe to. Purchases are unlimited on Starter and Pro.
An MCP request is a request to retrieve or process data through Subtotal's MCP server, which lets AI tools work with your purchase data. MCP requests are unlimited on Starter and Pro.
An API request is any call your systems make to the Subtotal API, such as retrieving connections, purchases, or shopper data. API requests are unlimited on Starter and Pro.
